I've kept bees for about 5 years, on and off. I have about 14 hives, though lately they have languished as I've been busy with the farmhouse. I hope to move 10 hives to Canada and get a electric fence for them, as there are bears and moose on the property and I really don't want to lose any hives to those critters.
BTW, you get about 100lbs of honey from a 'good' hive in a year. The bees really do MOST of the work.
